After getting new aquaray led lights for my tank i stopped using the t8's and had the led's on for 10 hours a day. this started causing green algae to appear on my heater so i reduced the time down to 8hrs a day. then brown algae started appearing all over the slate in the tank. i then reduced the light to 5 hours a day to try an kill off the brown stuff.
well the brown stuff hasnt gone and now the green is comign back all up the back of the tank and on the heater even with 5hrs light a day. there is no sunlight getting into the tank so i am a bit confused as to why this is happening.
nitrates are around 20ppm
any ideas?
