Been out today to prove to my dad that most the time you will not be able to get tanks cheaper in shops then on the net (getting a new nano).
Anway we went to this new shop in ely and it's great. They specialise in community fish (basically) plants, and other ones.First when i came in they had a PFK nano tank & a aquarium of about 190 litres ( i guess). There was a uara ,cories and quite a few other fish, but the uara was only about 4 inches,it was mediumly planted & had a co2 kit(i saw it in the tank and is said SERA) which i think was just a tablet system.Anway on it it had a sign "this tank is overstocked, however we have a second ehiem external filter in the cuboard to help(or something like that)".So i thought maybe they know a bit about fish (opposed to the usual teenager employed) then i went to the fish room and all fish in tip top cond, plants aswell. They had so much healthy java moss aswell! Loads of 5-6inch clown loaches (£15.00 each though).I asked the woman "have you got any ottos in,you know the algae eating fish"(trying to make it simple). She said no we havn't got any ottocinclus but should stock some in soon.So obviously she has a good knowledge and knows quite a bit about fish!Went and bought a pack of bloodworm and saw through a door there qaurantine room.Probably x3 the amount of fish and tanks they had for sale.I was pretty amazed, they also had back issues of PFK for sale :good: .Reccomend to anyone around Ely!

Sounds like this place?
I don't think they're new, just a bit out of reach for passing trade.
They are really nice people and know their stuff.
Some of the fish are a bit pricey compared to other shops, but they are always in cracking condition which goes a long way I reckon.
Think I might have a trundle over there tomorrow actually ...

I agree on the pricey side, still you know you are getting qaulity. Think we spotted the sign about 2 months ago but never really had time to go there. If they had an arrow to show where it was(instead of just a sign) people would be able to find it easier. It's a bit tucked away.

Yeah I agree.I think I saw an advert in the back of PFK so thought I 'd pop across and have a look, and was really impressed.
I certainly don't think they have any signs from the road that you would just notice when passing.
Shame really as they seem to run a really good little shop.
Makes you wonder how much revenue they lose due to being poked out somewhere with no serious passing trade.

They have one tiny little sign at the roundabout
