Ok, I looked everywhere and just couldn't find enough information on my new guys.
This is my first time keeping gouramis, but I've read that they are related to bettas, so I should be somewhat ok(I'm a total betta freak. I need meetings and everything..)
Anyway, I had a few questions about them. I have a 22-gallon, and I have one pink kissing gourami and one blue 3-spotted gourami. I just got them about 2 weeks ago, and they're babies
Their names are Frank and Tony, as we have a picture of Tony Montana and a picture of Frank Sinatra hanging on our walls.
First, I want to add 2 companions to the tank in a few weeks-one of each species, respectively. Is this alright, or is the tank too small?
Second, I also wanted to add snails, or frogs, or SOMETHING, for the bottom. What would be best?
Third, I'm definately adding some live plants to the tank. I want one that they can munch on, and some for decoration or comfort of the fish. I read about the Thai Onion Plant(crinum thianaum) and I would really like to have it, as I read that it can bloom flowers at the top of the water and I think that would be a wonderful addition, and it's supposed to be nasty on fishy tastebuds, so no disturbances.
I also wanted java moss(vesicularia dubyana) for them to munch on, and maybe dwarf anubias(anubias barteri var. nana) for aesthetic purposes, and provides a nice resting pad for the lazy one(frank, the kissing gourami)
Eventually, when I get a (much) bigger tank, I want to have a little group of each species(3 or 4) and maybe a few other fish. What kind of fish do these guys get along with? Sorry for all the questions!
