Gourami being stupid...

Whenever i look at my fish tank i see one of my 4 blue gouramis moving up and down using his fins.... I wouldnt mind it so much if i knew why he was doing it, but i dont so it kinda worries me... Can fish be mentally retarded?

Yes especially gouramis, especially little blu ones, i had one who got stuck in a heater guard hole i had to push him out and that scalped him. the one gourami i've got left hangs out with the african butterfly fish perfectly happy!! His mate unfortuneatley she thought she was a catfish and tried to dig under bogwood got stuck and died In the fish world i believe gouramis are the dummies!!

LOL! thats exactly what mine do! hang out with my butterfly fish! i thought they were agressive to other surface dwellers, i gues they can get along

Yeah they look so mean those butterfly fish but don't hurt anyone mine even hang out with Panchax. the only thing they attack is freeze dried shrimp !!

I feed mine live insects, i like watching him rip it to peices
