During this past few weeks i have been adding new fish recommended by the people in the fish shop.

now i have two apple snails, 5 guppys, 2 male, 3 female, 1 red tailed shark, very friendly, but if starts playing up i will have to rehome him, 4 platies, i think i have a male and female dwarf gourami is it? and 2 placos and 3 cory catfish, black n white speckledy.

the guy said i can have ,more fish but this looks alot at the moment so i will keep it as it is for now, a few monthes down the line i will need a bigger tank, this all depends on when i move house myself etc.

What you think?

I wouldn't put anymore fish in.

You have the right idea about getting a bigger tank in a bit.

By very careful about the shark, he can get up to 5 inches pretty quickly.

Return the Pleco, and the shark, and you are still in bad shape. I am guessing the Pleco is common...

BTW never trust LFS!

1 inch of fish per gallon, you got 13 fish, all of which will surpass 1 inch! (not including the shark that gets 6 inches and the pleco that gets 2 feet.)

lol some petstores are funny, my lfs arent like other ones but this is a very uncommon exception.

is your lfs wal-mart? that sounds like something they might tell you

MOst of the times I have to tell my LFS what can be done and what not. They cannot even sex the fish I want to have. So, I learned to come prepared and only buy what I know I want. I started with a 20 gallon (60 litre tank), and was lucky to find this forum before things went seriously wrong, but otherwise I would have been in deep #### if I had believed everything my LFS told me!

If you want to keep all the fish you have currently, do your research and find out what you need in terms of tank size, current, filter etc. so you will be in time to avoid any problems and prepared for buying your new tank.

 Most of the people at the lfs do not know what they are talking about. The best thing to do is do your own research before you buy any fish. For a ten gallon tank that is way to many. I would consider rehoming some so your fish will be happier. Good luck!

I'm also assuming the pleco is a "common". These get HUGE and would outgrow your 10 gallon quickly. In fact they outgrow 55 gallon tanks!

I would say take out the pleco and watch the shark. Make sure your filtration is adequate and change lots of water. If you do that you should be fine without adding more. Which in that sized tank I wouldn't do.
