Got Some Black Slate Tiles

i think i got a good deal today - $10 for 20 3x3" tiles cut from a 16x16" black slate tile. the manager was going to charge me twice as much, but i lucked out.

anyway, my question is: is black slate aquarium safe. i think it is, but just wanted to make sure.

while we're on the topic of aquarium safe rocks, are green slate and rainbow slate safe as well?

im using green, purple and a blue slate in my tank at the moment.

water stats are fine and fish seem happy so im happy.

Hi celaeno

If it's real slate, it's good to use in tanks. Just make sure that it has no sharp edges on it. File the edges down if necessary.

You're lucky to have found it. I can't find any at all these days.
