Got a new opaline. As I took a visit to the lfs. I saw the opaline or if you call them moonlight tank and saw the biggest and the most active one. As i have alot of tank space in my 29. Right now i don't see any aggression between my blue paradise gourami that is a male and my opal i think the opal is a female. Not to sure. I was thinking of getting a guppy but i changed my mind. Since i know a bit about gouramis i said why not. Don't know what to name my opal. It's a beaut though. Didn't think the lfs had a royal panaque plec they do now. It seems they got some new fish. All to my benifit as you can tell i'm exicited! LOL. I think i'm gonna name him frankenstein because sometimes when he is swimming he'll have his feelers out like frankenstein his hands.

Hi Fish dude,
I have a femal Blue Opaline Gourami, I got her a few days ago, I think I have named her Ruby, because she is so composed.
I also wonder why they were called blue, even opal (ine)
But I found out last night, sometimes if you catch them in the right light they display the most gorgeous blueish white neon color
My girl is very insterested with what goes on outside the tank, she is 5-6cm now and will grow a bit more.

Yesterday I got a female pearl Gourami, and my opal was beign slighty aggressive with the pearl, and is nudging her out of any hiding places and so forth, they seem to be schooling together with some issues to sort out -which I thought they'd have no issues because they were female.

Frankensteine is a great name, I love there feelers and how they move them about.
When I Move my tiger barbs out of the tank, I am going to get 1 or 2 Neon Blue Dwarf Gourami, they are so beautiful!

I am excited, I have gouramis as they are a really beautiful fish

Yea i noticed that i was like what i didn't see that glow in the morning today. Hopefully i can get some film and take pics. I think my opal is female but i can't really tell her dorsal fin looks rounded but then again it looks s like it's rounded to a curve. I find that once gouramis fight if they aren't after the female they'll eventually stop and be pals.

Congrats man. Opaline Gouramis are beatiful, active, and fun to watch, and pretty rare in my town (i dont know why, they are common fish)... Good luck naming him..
