Going From Tropical To Cold Water

i am debating changing my tropical tank to a cold water tank, i am going to re home the remaining few of my tropical fish and go for fancy gold fish or something , my question is, will i be able to use the same filter media and will i be able to remove all the water and replace it with fresh?

i would say your tanks are not big enough for goldfish

i just did some reasearch and i agree i really wanted goldfish might just close my tank for a bit then.
