Goby Id Plz... :good:

hey there and thanks for taking interest id just like some information please. just that i bought a goby for the tropical tank and it was sold 2 me as a purple goby, its only 2" long and its silvery with a black line down the middle. it was only £5 aswell which was a brucey bonus, id just like 2 know which type of goby it is as i cant find much info on the net, wot do they eat? and how big do they get? oh yeah and do they eat all the fish? the guy said it wont but it was at peter barratts n im not sure if he knew wot he was on about as ive looked at all other goby sites and most of em r carnivores so does that mean that when the goby gets bigger then the neons dont have a chance?id also like 2 know if any1 has had any experiences with goby eating the fish etc. tyhat wud be great. well thanks very much for ya time all info is really appreciated.

Hm sounds like a dragon goby. Not sure. Someone else may be able to check that for me.

A photograph would really help. Gobiidae is one of the biggest fish families, and plenty look quite similar. An image would be a great help.

its silvery and its face looks more like a tortouise than the one in your profile, its a freshwater one aswell n i dont have a scientific name neither. ive looked on sites but cant really find anything, ill keep looking tho i need 2 find out its doing my head in lol it seems peaceful enough like but it is only small. its meant 2 be a purple goby but its silver and ive searched the web for purple goby and cant find anything, thanks for ya help gobyMaster, any1 else have any idea wot it cud be and any info on it. i dont think it will be a dragon goby as its silvery and it was only £5, how much are dragon gobys?? thanks for ya help.

they said it grows 5" and its an algae eating gobie, its silver with dark silver lines from head 2 tail. it eats all live food and catfish pelletts. i just wish i knew the name so i cud look up on it and read all the info i need
