you've got to hate this situations. You come home, and you've got a new fish......

"Haha. guess what!"
"what... did I fail my six weeks?"
"No! you did great! and so we got you this!"

It's not horrible....

But... the fish store has a "1 day return policy"

My 38 is still cycling....

So I put him in my 10 with my 2 peacock eels, senegal, bamboo shrimp and tetra after a water change.....

But what the heck am I supposed to do with a single juvy discus? :shout:

Someone help me!

Hmmmm.... Is there any way to help make it suited? I think when the 38 gallon finishes cycling, there's actually nothing that would disturb it.....

But the water conditions are probably different from what peacock eels and a senegal bichir would like, right?

not too sure about the birchirs and stuff, but discus should be kept 5+ or something, and 55 gallon minimum. So, I don't think it would work.

Wait for other people though

I;ve done some reading on these before, partialy because I was considering them VS angels.

There's a constant dispute over weather they can be kept in pairs, or groups.

If it was a pair, then they might not need a 55 gallon, correct? And In that case, Down at Fish Trading USA, their Discus recently mass bred, to those are $20 a piece. I could get another one of the same size if I could earn $10 more. The only problem I think are water conditions and size, In which I'm close on size, and might eventually get a big enough tank. That is, if he survives the current water/stress for now.

oooh yes. that would be bad.

He appears to have settled in okay. I've moved three batches of water wisteria and 1 other plant to the 10, and he's taken to hiding in the wisteria immediatly.

I'm letting my 2 last glowlight tetra in the 38, they're adjusting to the temp in a cup right now with their own tank water.

I'll try to get one from the same batch, as according to my dad there were 100's.
And I can hope they pair... if not.... there goes $22 from me.... apparently they're worth that.

Really beautiful. I've taken to him instantly. I really hope he'll be okay. Since I was considering a pair of angels in my stocking orinally, These actually may fit in. They'll just have to replace the Feather Fin catfish.

I was heading towards too many bottomdwellers anyways IMO....

Thanks a lot for your help! :good:

This is what I heard:
"Oh well, if it's not important to make sure a fish is properly homed - it doesn't hurt me"

You've got to be kidding. Choosing advice that better suites you isn't the way to go.

no, that's not what I mean by that.

I meant that if they don't pair, that one of the discus will stress out the other horribly, and 22 dollars would have gone down the tube trying to help please the discus.
