Hey all,

Just yesterday I put a Ghost Shrimp in my 10 gallon tank. I have a Red Wag Platy, Black Molly, and three guppies. Since then, the shrimp seems to have disappeared! I don't think any of the fish are big enough to eat him, but... Is that likely? My dad and I each sat there for about an hour looking for him, and we can't find him! There's no skeleton, no carcass, no nothing! Is he hiding in all my plants?

Thanks,
Jordan

Yeah I added 4 to my tank, and have only been able to find up to 2. They can be hard to find.

They might be hard to find, but when I had mollies they pecked at them and nibbled up ghost shrimp bit by bit very well. Of the four ghost shrimp I bought, 2 were eaten by mollies, one by my betta, and one stressed to death being chased by the mollies.

They're not really bred to be the strongest creatures.. they're bred to be food.. so there's a chance it died of stress from the move to your tank.

I do the same thing when I go to petsmart.. buy 10 of them just for fun to see if any of them last long.

The longest I had one last was probably a month.

Sure enough, earlier today I saw one of my Tiger Barbs running around with the shrimp's tail sticking out of his mouth...

In my 10g tank however, the platy, molly, and guppies have left him alone. I actually watched him eat a snail... :p
