i might be getting a micron filter instead of a uv sterilizer for safety reasons. i found the cost to be around $70 at petsmart.com. is this a good deal?

i hear that green water will go away with the use of a micron filter, but will return after discontinuing its use. is this true?

does anyone know of a cheaper alternative to micron filters and uv sterilizers (blackouts and water changes have not helped)? i was thinking about a special cartridge i can just put into my bio-wheel power filter maybe? anyone know if they make those?
