My bristle nose plecs spawned a load of young wich are now out and about the tank scouring the surface for food and ive never seen my gravel so clean, should i reduce my weekly gravel vacumming to once every two weeks instead of once a week as i guess i would be taking valueable food away from the little guys ill stick stick to my weekly water changes but ill reduce the vacumme

Do you feed them any supplemental foods? Or just let them scavenge what they can find?

Just letting them find food on their own isn't enough. You'll need to feed them algae-wafers and assortments of veggies to keep them nourished and healthy. A common mistake people make is to think that fish of this nature will live solely on what they can find.

Yes they get supplements around 5 algae waffers a day, cat fish pellets, cucumber twice a week, the odd bloodworm, peas, the reason i asked was i have 3 fully grown adults about 4-5"'s two more younger ones what are just over 2" and 1 albino at 1" i was concerned that with the adults the young wont get enough therefore i was thinking if i cut down gravel cleaning they have more chance to get the left overs from the greedy adults if you know what i mean.

Thanks for the reply

Doing a gravel clean every week is too much imo, i do mine every month.
