Hello all,

My German Blue Rams have spawned and laid about 60 or so eggs on a leaf in my 55 gallon tank. In the tank i have
3 platy
3 zebra danios
1 female beta
2 kribs
2 brichardi

Everyone seems to mind their own business but the poor GBR's never seem to see their eggs become fry and once they did but the next morning they were all gone. I bought this divider to put in my tank but the crazy love birds decided to spawn on the middle of the tank on this huge leaf. Do you all think i should clip the leaf off and put it in a corner of my tank and then put the divider up so nobody could get near them or just let the parents naturally try again. This has been like their tenth time trying to do a good job. PLEASE help!

i have no idea if GBR are the type to just lay the eggs and leave them or what.....but maybe if you have a spare tank you could move them there if it is indeed okay to move the eggs.......................

Whats happening is the rams are eating the eggs because they are growing fungus. This is very common. There are ways to help the eggs hatch. You dont need to take the parents away from the eggs. BUT once the fry hatch and become free swimming... your other fish will eat them. If you want to keep GBR fry... the parents need to be all by themselves.
