I am setting up a new tank and will be transferring my polka dot pictus catfish to it. I am wondering what other bottom dwellers I may add. I am considering a group of cories and maybe 1 african frog.

Bottom will be a mixture of sand and small black gravel.

Will also house gourami's (I have one dwarf and one opaline), angelfish (coming soon), and a school of somthing, haven't decided yet.

Will my pictus be okay with the frog and cories ?

Thanks !

I don't know that that's a good idea. Pictus are predatory catfish. Those long whiskers on their mouths are for finding prey at night when fish are asleep and unsuspecting. I'd think a small ADF blind frog esp at night wouldn't stand a chance.

If it gulps down a cory, as with other fish that have tried it, chances are the spikes on the cory will poke all the way through its stomach and kill it.

They should be find with the angelfish though. I kept 4 of them in a 55 gallon with 6 silver dollars and they got along very well.
