No book can hold a fraction of the information offered on the internet. ;)

Unfortunately, most fish books are outdated and a lot of the information is not the best in the world. Fishless cycling for instance is relatively new, in the last 10 or 12 years and you probably won't find many, if any, books that mention it. If you do buy one, get a relatively new one. Also, search this forum for "books" or something to that extent. There have been quitea few threads about fish books and you should be able tofind some good ones that way.

Baensch Atlas's and the Axlerod Atlas (mini or full) are all very good for information.

It all depends on what you want.

Do you want books just about fish species and how large they get, books on how to set up certain biotopes, or perhaps more in depth knowledge of the actual biology of the fish?

I have a load of books (Axelrod's mini fish atlas is great) but even fish books from 7 years ago are outdate badly..such as one I read stating "Unlike the freshwater aquarium, saltwater aquariums need filtration"....I have yet to read a book which mentions cycling

Animal Planet's Freshwater Aquariums book mentions two methods of cycling - using fish and stocking slowly, and using a matured biofilter.

Baensch Atlas's & Aqualogs for reference pics.
