was looking in my cherry shrimp tank, looking for some tiger limia's, but they must not have lived through the heater off period... literally 100's of cherry shrimp, in a 10 gallon, I don't typically add much food, could have been a detritus worm, or??? looked like pictures I've seen of vinegar eels...but I only saw one, I tried to take a picture, but too small, worry it could have been a parasite i. one of the limia, that didn't make it...

any other thoughts???

couldn't zoom this picture enough, to make it out...

It sounds like harmless detritus worms. Some fish will eat them. They grow to visible sizes with overfeeding. Now, why do I see them occasionally? Almost every older established tank has its moments.
