Flying Fox Fish

ok so bout 10 to 9 this moning i turned the lights and fed my fish same as i do every morning but wile i watched them feed i noticed my flying fox fish i have to but only one had turned white i thought thats not right but had to go to school do i left him alone when i got home the flying fox has retained full coulor oh and his behavious did not change in the morning at all
 
i think that's fairly normal i have 6 of these and when the lights are out they do appear to lose there black strip soon returns once the lights are on for a while.
 
ok thanks i just got a bitt worried as i have been loosing alot of fish recently
 
Yeah most fish in fact change to a lighter, darker or faded coloration when it is pitch black or just dark during daytime
 
Their colors tend to adjust quickly with varying light spectrums. Also plays a vital role to avoid getting eaten in the wild by nocturnal animals :)
 
ok they arent gettin the colour back at all now they are white all the time
 
That's a response to stress. Please properly home them.
 
why would they be stressed im not arguing any more i have accepted that my tank was overstocked
 
Overstocking is stressful.
 
They require a tank with a much larger footprint, and they should be kept singly, unless you have a MUCH larger tank.
 
So, when you keep fish in an improper tank, stress occurs.
 
 
Imagine that you were kept in a closet, even a walk-in closet... would you be stressed?
