These lights say that tehy are for a planted tank, but would haveing two 18 inch, so about 30 watts, in a 55 gallon tank actually grow plants, or would it be similar to just a regular light because of the low wattage?

Even with the best bulb in the market, having 30w in a 55g is less than 1wpg which is very low lighting.

I'm thinking of getting a double bulb strip light, because I know the 30 isnt alot and Ive had fish get stuck in the plastic plants, but the strip costes a lot of money.
