Guys,
does ammonia go off? or do test kits go off?
i ahve tried to start my fioshless cylce last night and this morning, and i can NOT get it to register thast there ammonia in the tank,
the tnak has been running for about a year...but i stripped it right down and totoally started again...even changing tyeh filter pads....thus i was sure it would need cycling again
last night i was advised that apx 20 drops of 9.5% ammonia would get me a apx 5ppm reaing in my 120l tank, (i relaise the drops size can vary massivly)
having added this amount of ammonia yesterday, i came hoem to get a reading of about 0.25 pp,m ammopnia, o pmm NitrItes, and apx ppm Nitrate.
so i assuming that either teh ammonia has gone off or teh test kit has...this cant somehow have stayed cycled syrely?
