Fishless Cycling - Saltwater

I have the aquarium bug bad.... it has resulted in 4 tanks.

My freswater tanks are just about cycled so now I'd like to try a saltwater tank. My "newbie" question is -- Is fishless cycling the same for freshwater and saltwater?

To answer your question, it can be exactly the same, or it can be completely different. It all depends on what sort of a tank you want and how you want to filter it.
