Ok I used to be on this forum as corpse fish, and I have a question about Fishless cycling. I have an established tank, and I just put up another one thats been going for about a week. I am about to do a tank cleening in an hour or so, and was wondering if I could put some established tank water into the new tank (just about a half gallon) to speed up the cycling process. Would it be ok or no?

I don't think that tank water will speed the process up. You may want to put some gravel from the established tank in the new one. My understanding is, this is done becuase the bacteria live in the gravel.

What I have done in the past with a new and established tank is start the fishless cycle by adding ammonia and creating a spike. Letting it sit about 24 hours and thn introducing gravel from an established tank. Last time i did this I was cycling a 4 gallon tank and used half a net full of gravel and just let it sit in the net in the tank. I tested the water and the ammonia spike was over in about 2 days.

No garuntee you will have the same results ;)

Another idea might be to squeeze some of the bacteria out of the established filter and soak the new filters sponges in it.
