Fishless Cycling - Going On Holiday

Hi, I`m about 2 weeks into a Fishless cycle on my new tank and in about 2 weeks i`m going on Holiday which should be the end of my fishless cycle I don`t really want to add fish until I get back so while I`m away I`m going to have to get someone to add some ammonia ?
How often do you think I`ll need someone to add it ? (How long can the bacteria live without ammonia /Nitrite ?)
Or is there another option ?

Well if you leave the tank without ammonia for 2 weeks its way too long for any bacteria to live in there without ammonia. Bacteria die after deprivation of ammonia after about an hour or two so i would suggest that you designate a family member or freind to finish the cycling while your gone.

at the end of the cycle amonia will need to be added daily.

so having a friend or family member who under stands the idea of fishless cycle will be essential

Thanks Guys that answers that then, I`ll get my dad to add ammonia everyday while I`m away (1 week) I was hoping myabe every other day or a double dose every other day ?
