Fishless Cycle

its only a quick question rearly.
im starting a new tank and am doing a fishless cycle, but when do i test the water? every day , every 2 days every 3 days?

Yeah I would more or less test every day, but it depends how far in you are, right at the beginning, bear in mind the first batch of ammonia wont go down until at least a couple of days in, so you could probably get away with missing a day or two, beause the ammonia doesnt go down to 0 until a week or more, but later on you should probably test every day because you want to know when the ammonia is being processed in under 12 hours, remember once you see a drop in ammonia you can test for nitrItes, the presence of nitrItes mean that ammonia is being processed. For the nitrIte spike, bear in mind that the nitrIte takes about twice as long as the ammonia to come down, however when it does come down it happens almost overnight.
