Fishless Cycle Nearly Ended.....

I know that the step is "buy the fish".... so thanks to anyone who was going to say that.

What I actually want to know is this. If I cannot for whatever reason add the fish I want immediately, how long will the bacteria stay alive? I'm guessing that I need to keep them fed with ammonia and they will be happy?

I'm only planning on laeving the tank without fish for a week or so.

just keep adding ammonia untill the day your ready for fish.... it`ll keep the bacteria ticking over nicely. the bacteria can only last for 24 hours with out ammonia before its all dead
