Hi

I have a small snail problem in my community tank. Snails are popping up like mad now every day. I have no clue where they come from since the last plant I added was over a month ago and they are still small.

Anyway, I'm looking for a fish that could eat them as i'd prefer that over trying to catch them all.é The bettas will eat the very tiny ones but as soon as they reach 3-4 mm, they don't eat them.

I know clown loaches will eat them, but is there anything else I can get to eat snails?

Most loaches will each the snails.
My yo-yo's and Angelicus will eat snails when given the chance though they're not anywhere near the size of a clown loach.

Zebras and skunks are a smaller alternatve. The skunks can be aggressive, though.

I moved a juvie skunk to a 10g that had a bit a a snail problem starting. He made short work of them. He is about to get moved back to the 55g.

Both do best in groups of 3 or more.
