This is not an emergency, but I though the people who come to this section of TTF might know the answer.

How do fish get it?

I had a few fish that I thought had TB (not positive) and they died.
Does that mean that the other fish in my tank will have it?

Can you describe the systom the fish had.
It hard to say fish tb with out tests done on the dead fish.
Spnes can bend and fish look skinny with internal parasites.
Also the spine can bend with old age, injury, birth defect, internal parasites, fish tb, vitamin deficiency.
Once a fish has tb yes other fish can get it due to the bacteria entering the tank off the fish.

All I know is they looked thin, I think their spine might have been bent, not sure, but I don't know if they had internal parasites.

Is there a way to get rid of the bacteria??? Or will most of my fish end up dead because of this???

I read the article. I didn't quite understand all of it but I think I get it.

So does that mean that if my fish that died had TB then all my other fish will get it?

Not always some can fight if off if they have a good immune system I think.
How long ago did this happen.
Having any problems with any fish now from the same tank.

All together I lost 3 mollies. The first died over a month ago possibly 2. Not quite sure. That one had a very bent spine and was very weak (got stuck to the filter and couldn't get off at one stage). It was very, very thin and wouldn't eat anything(if it did actually eat it wouldn't eat much). This fish was also fairly new.

The second died maybe a week and a bit ago. It's back may have been bent, but if it was it was no-where near as bad as the first one. It still seemed to have a good appetite, unlike the first one, and it was a bit more unexpected.

The last one died the day after the second. I didn't expect that either because it was eating well and it's back didn't look bent (not that I know of anyway). It also didn't really look thin. It may have looked slightly thiner than usual but it looked pretty much normal.

I hope I have given you enough information about them and I hope you can help.

I think I would worm your tank for camallanous worms
Not sure on meds in your country.

Sorry I don't know much about fish diseases.
What is camallanous worms?
And do you have any idea what type of meds I would be looking for.
(I've had fish for about 1 year now but I have never used any meds)

I'll keep a close eye on all of my fish and when I go to my LFS I'll have a look to see what meds they have.
