Anybody know what kind of fish this cute little guy is? We have a couple at work, but they're not labeled. At first I was thinking he (she?) looked a little Goby-ish, but now I'm thinking more Killifish like, although I really don't know... He has two separate dorsal fins (or they at least appear separate).

Edit: I just looked at some Killi pictures and didn't see any with the split dorsal fin. I really have no clue what this guy is, other than a cute fish :)

At any rate, he's a cute little fish :)

Thanks!

Yep thats a Knight goby, Stigmatogobius sadanundio. They are a brackish fish and will soon perish if kept in freshwater, at the very least add 3 tablespoons or marine salt to each 5 gallons of water to keep them happy.

Thanks! So my "Goby suspicions" were correct :p

Too bad they're brackish, 'cause I was thinking about getting a couple... Hubby would not be impressed if I set up another tank...

I'll see about getting salt in their water when I'm back at work.

Isn't he, though? Wish I could bring a couple of 'em home. I think between the two stores we have three of 'em. Hubby says no more tanks set up right now, though... :/ He likes open space and says there should not be a fish tank on every flat surface  I told him that I have what's called Multiple Tank Syndrome.

My mom said yesterday that maybe they would get me a 75 gallon set up for Christmas :fun: :hyper:
