Hi there,

At my LFS in the same tank as the congo tetras, they have these similar coloured tetras which are about double/treble the size. All i know is they have a black dot on their tail, and are wild caught in brazil. I asked what the name was but i can't for the life of me remember! I seem to recall something like "illasi tetra" or something.

I want to research to see if they will be suitable for my soon to be cycled tank to complement a few congos :good:

Jonno.

Hmm, sounds a little bit like a pristella tetra, although they have black spots on their fins, not their tails

largish tetras with dark spot on or near tail
all I can think of, off the top of my head, are Astyanax mexicanus & Exodon paradoxus
