I have a new 33 gallon tank which should be finished with cycling pretty soon.

It has bogwood and live plants (Vals, bananna plants, dwarf sagittarus, ludwigia and a crypt) and a sandy substrate.

I know I definitely want 2 Cockatoo Dwarf Cichlids but I cant choose the other fish. Do either of these two options sound any good ?

(This is only my 2nd tank - I've had the first one for about a year).

Option 1

2 x Cockatoo Dwarf Cichlids
2 x neon blue dwarf gourami
3 x Otoclinus
11 x neon tetra

Option 2

2 x Cockatoo Dwarf Cichlids
1 x neon blue dwarf gourami
3 x Otoclinus
6 x Marble Hatchet Fish
9 x neon tetra

I have only been keeping fish for three months but may I make a suggestion. Looking at pic of Cockatoo Dwarf Cichilds on Internet, they are very similar to Kribensis. I have had a pair of these for three weeks, they are easier to keep and are more successful to breed, and fascinating to watch. The females tummy goes bright pink when it is time to breed, the parents guard their young and will move them around the tank in their mouths. Like the Cichilds, they are territorial when breeding, so any slow moving fish eg Gourmis may be cornered.

What is in your other tank?
