OK, Pleco died i think yesterday, seemed fine just not ssen him for a while until i spotted my Clown loach munchi ng on him. Today i spot that one of my clown loach has what look like a rotting tail and i spotted him flicking on the sand, and hour ago i spotted my Honey gourami looking a bit sad at the top of the tank, after putting my son to bed an hour later i have found the gourami dead at the bottom of the tank, there are no signs of anything wrong.

All stats are normal;

PH - 7.6
Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 20ppm

240l

I have increased the temp to 32c just incase of whitespot problem coming back.

Ask away any questions you need to help.

also loach is panting as if out of breath

help please???

Loach could be panting due to temp - have you increased aeriation?

I've only just turner the temp up so the tank wouldn't get anywhere near the temp required for a couple of hours at least.

I have increased surface agitation.

isn't 32c too hot for those fish? i think the clown loach probably has fin rot. although, the flicking is normally white spot isn't it?

How many gallons is the tank.
How many fish and which type.

Does the fish look pale or darker in colour.
Any tiny bubbles on the fish.
Do the gills or body look pale with excess muas.
Do the gills look red and inflamed.
Any fish acting listless and lethagic.

53 Gals,

2 x Clown loach
5 x Kribensis
2 x Kissing Gourami
6 x Cardinal tetra
6 x Kuhli loach

No to all other questions

Any chemicals gotten into the water.
Added anything to the tank in the last week or so.
Tiny bubbles on fish sometimes can happen before whitespot breaks out.

I did clean the outside of the tank last weekend with windon cleaner but i made sure i sprayed the cloth outside and the lid was on the tank.

I have noticed a growth under the chin of one of my cardinals, looks clear and seems to be flat not a bubble and another has a white mark almost like a worm on its lips.

these i have only noticed this morning while studying them.

The clown loach is active as usual, but does seem to be swimming at an almost 45 degree angle.

I have just finished a 50% water change in hopes of trying to slow down any infestation.

Thanks for your time Wilder....much appreciated!!

Does it look like a strand of cotton or definately look like a parasite (worm) Does the wormy thing have a y shaped tail.
Does the bubble move.
Does the clown loach look abit bloated, is he maintaining his balance in the water.
What do you feed the fish.

Cant really say if it looks like a worm or cotton, but from closer inspection i can't see a Y in the tail.

I don't think the bubble moves, but again after really having a good look now, it looks as if ther is a bubble within the bubble but alot smaller, very strange.

He does maintain balance but he does seem slightly bloated.

I feed flakes, peas, and algea pellets. and mussel once a month.

More frozen foods and veg in there diet.

With the flicking it could be a parasite.
A stand of cotton with a y shaped tail can be anchor worm.
Columnaris. False name mouth fungus, can look like cotton wool on the mouth, strands of cotton, bleached out mouth and lips, or spots on lips that have redness to them. Or mouth looks like it's rotting away. Swollen mouth. Greyish white mouth.

Clear looking spots can be bacterial to parasites.

With the rotting fins for now I would add some myxazin by waterlife.

A pic of anchor worm on a fish.

Feed the fish some shelled peas also.

it's not like cotton wool but almost like a strand, it looks as if its in the skin, looking from your pic it looks nothing like that almost just like s sgwigily line.

The other looks like a sack of clear liquid.

I will by some blood worms and stuff today and give them some peas now i will also buy the myxazin and treat as nessicary.

Many thanks wilder

Can you issolate the fish as if the growth bursts it can infect the tank.

Brime shrimp and daphnia are good frozen goods.

fraid not, hopefully getting a hospital/quaranteen tank setup early this next/this year.

Got some meds now so fingers crossed.

many thanks for the help and advice.
