well, i suggest you get a test kit that is a MUST for fish keeping in modern days. is it like a mucus like a kind of slime?

gradualy up the tank temp to about 28, (GRADUALY!!) like 1-2 degrees a day.

ok thanks ill up it 1 degree a day theres no sign of mucus/slime ill get a test kit tomorow with hopefully some treat ment

sounds like fungus or columnaris. if it's columnaris, you should be lowering the temperature instead. either way, an anti-biotic treatment is in order.

I'll agree, it sounds like Columnaris. I too am dealing with this right now. It's awful. Start treating ASAP or you will lose them all.

I am using Furan-2, I have lowered the temp to 75, salt, and Jungle Anti Bac food.

Good luck.

I think that what he is describing is what happens to all dead fish if left in the tank too long. Does the fuzz appear before or after the fish dies?

hi all just a quick update i spoke to the lfs and she said it was anti fungus treatment i needed so i have added that over the weekend no more deaths since then so fingers crossed.

i noticed there was a slight cotton wool around 1 of the fishes mouths, also nosoup4you you are correct in what you are saying about the fuzz appearing more after the fish dies, for some reason they were dieing at night then wen i went to the tank in the morning thats were the fuzz was around them so i didnt intenionally leave dead fish in my tank for a long period of time.i did remove them as soon as i noticed they were dead.

I didn't meat imply that you had...the fuzz actually grows rather quickly. :)
