I am just setting up a fresh water tropical tank, I do not have any fish as of yet. I have sand as a bedding and I am looking to have live plants. I would like a few plants that provide more dense vegetation but that are easy to care of and low maintenance. Any suggestions?

Hello damizza -

Welcome

I myself am new to planted aquariums although I've had a fish aquarium for over three years. This is a great hobby made even better by adding plants! Not only are you creating a more natural environment for your fish, but, done correctly, plants can be very beneficial to your tank!

This is a great forum to come to if you want to learn about the planted tank. You'll find many smart people who are very willing to answer your questions.

Perhaps the best way for you to start is by reading an article entitled "Your First Planted Tank." Rose the moderator has pinned this and other articles to the top of this forum.

This should give you a good starting point.

Have fun!

Great thank you so much for the article and the warm welcome. I am finding the site and forum to be a wealth of information!!! :D
