My tank finally cycled this week, and a did a 70% water change last night and rushed out this morning to get some fish. A bit stupid, but I didn'tplan....anyway, I got the following:

3 x Leopard Corydoras
6 x Neon Tetras

They've been in for about 2 hours. So far the Tetras seem fine. 1 of the Corys is very lively, 1 is OK, and the other has been pretty quiet. Is there anything I need to keep an eye out for??

hi,
you could try leaving all lights off while they settle in, dont over feed while they settle in, some fish take a while to get use to the new surroundings and wont eat for a while, apart from that enjoy your hobby, as long as they are swimming and eating fine and the water is good you will be fine, all the best donna :) .

just make sure they're eating and active, corys are funny, they'll be zipping around one minute, sitting still chilling the next. keep an eye out for bloated tummies, white spots on the scales, missing scales, the ends of fins looking black etc, anything that looks slightly out of the ordinary. they'll take a day or two to settle in and get used to their surroundings.

p.s. i believe they may be peppered corys you have, thats their proper name anyway, not leopard :)

yeah they are corydoras trilineatus which in some LFSs are sometimes called leopard catfish. Can't really say much more than the others have but i'd keep an eye on the neons, they can be quite sensitive in new tanks. :good:
