Finny Figured Out Why My Lfs.....

Well my lfs(chain store in Canada(Alberta/Ontario only) that i go to is under renovation and is selling fish though 7 50 gallon tanks on shelves right now.
They've always stocked up on hagen goods(fluval , elite, hagen, older hagen goods..etc)
NOw i know why ,
turns out my lfs is owned by Hagen, or
well its Hagens own petshop basically.
Everyhtign is under renovation, though more cramped then a petsmart, it certainly IMO is better.
majority of hte staff are knowlegable, though a few know only a few things and still believe goldfish can go in bowls.
Also it runs on a sump which gets dirty really fast, which means its rarely used, and AC filters are used in favour of the sump.(prevents spread of disease)
I anticipate the completion of hte renovation will bring more tanks , and more species, though unfortunately there not having a brackish tank and some species any more D:
there renovating other parts of the storeafter hte fish, but as luck would have it the fish section is renovated 1st =D

Lol just because i got paid yesterday.....
i know a few of hte staff there, including the mornign shift (weekday too) fish person,
and the night shift everyday+weekend cashier(i buy 10 shrimp, he cahrges me for one) (i buy 3 feet of backgroudn iget charged for 1) etc etc...

It's these sorts of practices that make the prices to regular honest customers high. Shop lifting is said to boost retail margin requirements by 20 to 40%. Retail margin is the difference between selling price and the laid in cost of the merchandise. From this margin the operation must pay all of the operating/overhead costs. If anything is left over, that is the profit otherwise there will be a loss.

i Know , i over exagerated though only the shrimp time (bought 4 cahrged for 1) and the background, well anotehr employee did that

im not the only one, like every second customer gets a discount as far as i know aha
because once i was in line up half hte peopel in fornt of me yeah...

leads me to wonder then....
how did the money for hte renovations come from, most of the purchases ive seen involved fish stuff too, like bulbs , media nad crap....

I shop at the same store and I don't seem to get any of this royal treatment. Who do you rate with in order to get this kinda discount?

ive bin there before and they think there all that like they noe more about animals then i do tell me this if they are so good why do i get away with taking alot of products from them.
