Last night for some unknown reason my mom turned off our 20gal tank filter....I was away and I got home at 6pm today! My tank is almost 5 months old with only with a few fish losses, all my fishes are looks fine right now, and I started the filter immediantly when I got home, well this effect our tank much? I have some platies, some guppies peppered corries, 1 male krib and 1 female ram in it, would they die because of lack of beneficial bacteria.... :-(

the good bacteria could have died if no water got to it but if was in water it should be fine. Check your amonnia and nitrite levels. hopefully it's okay.
:D

it should be fine. ive had my tanks go out in power outages overnight and they were all fine. but i dont keep very delicate fish

Just monitor your nitrite and ammonia levels. There is a slight chance of sending the tank into a cycle but probably not. If you see it happening, water changes should help your fish through it.
