Filter Question

To those of you with biocubes...do you leave in the filter cartridge or take it out and just have LR? Just curious if this filter would be a nitrate trap as mine has been sitting around 20ppm for the last week and water changes only lower it temporally. Thanks!!

most people with nano/bio cubes take out any fw filter stuff, so maybe that's the source of your nitrates

I'd remove it, you can have active carbon or a phosphate remover (or both) in there instead perhaps?
