Filter Motor Problem!

Hi all, my 35 litre betta lifespaces trickle filters motor has been having its ups and downs since i added fish to the tank the main problem is

the filter keeps on stoping then i have to flick one of its propelers with a toothpick, then it starts again, the problem is i really dont wanna get a replacement because then i would have to start the fishless cycle all of over again! how can i fix this

Have you cleaned the impellor and the place where the impellor goes with a toothbrush.

i dont have a fish dedicated toothbrush, i wouldnt want to use my own :sick: the fish have only been in the tank for a week what else can i do

where is the place where the impellor goes
 
Not sure as not familar with this type of filter.
How old is the filter.


If you have to buy a new filter just transfer the sponges to the new fillter.

filter has been running since mid august of this year, i dont want to get a new filter I would rather fix it myself ;)
 
Post in the betta section, some members might be familar with these type of filters.
