sorry to bother you all and im sure some of you will go doh but im after a some advice sort of

what it is. is when I feed my fish with the filter on they all go mental, eating manically zooming round the tank like fish on speed.. but I've noticed I lose 50% into the internal filter which means the filter needs cleaned more often then i like.. but if I turn the filter off so the food isnt instantly spread around the tank the fish dont feed as fast and sort of do it lazierly as if they cant be bothered..

why is this?? what should I do keep the filter on or turn it off for 10 mins at feeding??

i know ive had fish for a while but im still not sure what to do!!!

Put the food in as far away from the filter as possible. That may help.

there is no reason why you cant turn your filter off for 10 mins at feeding time, just unusual to need to do so thats all. do what ever makes you feel most comfortable. no damage will occur to your filter either way :)
