Filter Dead!

Hey,

My current filter stopped working earlier on this week and I have been unable to purchase a new one. To be fair I don't think it was big enough as I had a lot of algae and other problems. Anyway, before I go out shopping tomorrow I would like to ask for some suggestions for a new pump weather it be internal or external.

My tank is 79.32 Liters but has quite a number of fish do it needs sufficient filtration.
I have considered an external filter but I don't know if it would be a waste of money or not.

what kind of filter is it? did you loose power at any point in the week.

some filters need a little more coddling then others.

The filter is one from the Elite stingray range, I don't remember which but It didn't cost a lot...

I had one of them that stopped working (after about 10 days) too.

I got a Fluval Internal U2. No complaints so far *fingers crossed*.
