Filter Cartridges And Conditioners

I feel like I'm asking a stupid question but do you take out your filter cartridge when you add pharmaceuticals and conditioners? I have heard that the filter removes the conitioners....

I believe that you should remove any carbon that is in your filter, but sponges, bio rings, etc. should be left in there.
Carbon removes meds but I'm not sure about water conditioners.
I'm sure someone here will be able to confirm this for you.

If you need to buy medications for your fish, always read the instructions on the label properly before you buy. There are some that will affect filter bacteria and some that won't.
