fighting fish

i just bought 6 new neons
but one of the keeps going after all the others
as i am new to all this is this matting or fighting
the fish in Q swims up to the other neon and the sort of swim around chassing the other ones tail,(well thats the best description i can give)
all my levels are norm
i read on this forum a week ago that if they are fighting to float them in a net, but for how long,plus if there not i don't won't to get in the way when the getting it on )
any help whould be very very nice

It sounds like they are just playing. But they might get a little rough. One of the tetra's fins might get torn if it is fighting. I have feeder guppies (for my crayfish) and they do that too. One has never gotton hurt though. I wouldn't worry too much about it unless he tears a fin. Then he has to go.

It seems like in most schooling fish, there is always one who ends up bullying the others. It's good that you have 6 of them though, since this will help spread out any aggression and prevent one particular fish from being picked on all the time. This will probably continue, and I wouldn't really worry about it unless it gets really bad and a fish is hurt. I have a school of Danios that act just like yours - one is the head honcho and makes sure all the others know it - he's constantly telling them so ! Just keep an eye on them, and like SneakBetta said, make sure nobody's fins get nipped or anything - if they do, I agree - the bully should probably go.

i have 9 neons and its taken them a while to sort out who is boss,i used to get a lot of chasing but i think they have sorted out who is 'top fish ' now.they still chase every now and then but its just playing around. keep an eye open to make sure their is no harm done but they should settle after a while, pebbles

I was the guy who was asking what to do with my fighty neon well i kinda let nature take its caurse and now well they are all happly schooling Im gona get 2 more tho, also i thought about isolating the fighty neon but golly i couldnt tell the difference from each olther neon on the top view I think just relax ok
