Hi

Can someone let me know if my male fighter will be ok in the same tank as two angels?
He is being nipped and annoyed by three pygmy puffers in his current tank so i want to move him tonight only fish in other tank i was unsure about are the angels.

can someone advise

I wouldn't do it. Angels and Bettas probably wouldn't get along. You can probably stick him in a large vase or other container until you can find a more suitable 2-3 gallon aquarium.

from what i have read, it may also cause some problems..
like the betta flaring and attacking the angels or the other way around...
no experience to share though.

Ive never really got this, how can a betta live in a vase or small container do they not need a heater or filtertation? doesnt water need to be kept at certain level? after all they are tropical fish arent they? :/

i have a male fighter in with my Large Angel.....no probs at all, try it and watch close, first sign of trouble take the Betta out. mines been fine for a year though :D

my m8 had a fighter with his 2 angels.

thie bigger one didnt bother it but the little one chased it all over.

it all depends on your fish and how accepting they are of new fish.

yes they need a heater but in some places tank temp sits at a suitable temp cos its so hot.

if your in the UK tho a heater is a must.

as for a filter, you can get away with not using one if you clean the tank out completely once a week and give the betta fresh water.

hhhmm its two small angels i have so they may indeed bother him ill float him in a bag for now and see how interested they are in him and if he flares up at him.

If we were to put him in a small acquarium on his own e.g a vase does he not need a heater - what should water temp be?

minimum i think is about 24 degrees.

i have a small 4 gallon tank on a desk about 2 ft above the radiator and that stays at 24 degrees and im in the UK.

im sure its the radiator that does it too cos my hex tank which is unheated is way cooler and thats kno where near a radiator.
