At the moment i have 4 guppies and 3 platys and they will just eat any time i stick food in they will eat it how many times is safe for me to feed them as they seem more interested in lots of little feeds as appose to a big feed :good:

I feed around twice a day, once in the morning, and once in the evening and everything seems to be ok.

I had a nitrite spike a few weeks ago and didn't feed for nearly a week, and everyone seemed to get by ok.

Remember it is better to under feed than to over feed.

They'll survive happyly on 1 a day but wont turn down food if it comes floating by :) try supplimenting there diet with some fresh veg.

Will try the veg they have been on blood worm the last few days and cant get enough of them but they are very lazy and wont eat from the bottom of the tank they will only eat it if it comes floating by

Dont over feed blood worm, its very high in protein and dont want a diet too rich in it! once a week is plenty :)

Once a day, i feed my saltwater once every other day and i can do once every 4 days in my freshwater if i like..... Thats how i feed, you can do twice a day but i dont like that cause its probably not what they would get in the wild....

There is nothing wrong with feeding several times a day, as long as you measure the food to make sure that does not make you feed more than at a once a day feed. Platys and guppies are perpetually greedy and will eat more than is good for them, you have to learn to ignore those piteous little looks. And not too much bloodworm- once or twice a week is plenty. Give them some veg once or twice a week too- peas or sprout or something- it's good for them and adds a bit of interest.
