Ive got a pair of bolivian butterflies in a tank with neons. The neons are happy to come and feed on the micro pellets and flakes I put in but the bolivians dont really bother and only really feed on the micro pellets that are left over on the floor. Is this normal or should I vary the diet

Try a different type of pellets and/or some bloodworms. Perhaps they are not comfortable in the tank ie. there isnt enough plants and wood to make them feel secure. Also check your water (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH).
