I noticed today that 2 of my corys are really fat the others are normal. I posted a picture, can anybody tell me if the 2 on the left are females with egg and the one on the right is a male? I know there are fat fish but those 2 are really fat!
If it had just been the one, I would've been less sure.Shrimp is more like it.
so you think just fat?
They are females in the correct condition to be healthy. I wouldn't be cutting back on their food.Well my female gouramis are not skinny either so I guess the fault is with me, I will be cutting down on the portions.
I live in the mountains, the Laurentians in Quebec, Canada. I am in the forest by a lake where our water is not supplied so we have a 425’ deep artesian well that is not contaminated by farms or civilization. Unfortunately the water is a bit hard and my PH is 7.6. So I try very hard to have only fish that can thrive in a higher PH. I have 3 tanks now and no room for baby corys since my husband absolutely refuses to have another tank. i am working on changing his mind, but that will unfortunately take a while. What is your pH in this tank. Ideally if you are going to get them to spawn you will need your tank to be slightly acidic.
What can I do to keep them happy and healthy? They are females in the correct condition to be healthy. I wouldn't be cutting back on their food.
Just what you are doing now. Pearls are soft bodied and bruise easily, so just make sure there are no aggressive fish knocking them about. What can I do to keep them happy and healthy?
