ok, so this might sound trivial, but i am very frustrated, (and a little drunk) now, and i have to share my frustration with a (hopefully) understanding audience......
Yesterday, one of my (four) rescued cats jumped onto my female guppy tank and smashed through the lid.
It was in the middle of the night and the tank is right next to the head of my bed, so the first i knew was the rude awakening i got when about a bucketful of cold tankwater hit my face/bed and woke me up.
As it was in the middle of the night and i work very late, i just tried to find a dry patch on the bed to go back to sleep, but this morning i woke up to find my two best females and three latest babies dead.
Sooooo irritated by it!!!
of course i don't blame my cat, but the two best females (out of seven) dead!!!
Fortunately i have two daughters of each left to continue my breeding programme with....but even so....
Also, the tank was custom, so i will have to get a new lid custom made, and can't use a light until it is done.....grrrrrrrr.
plus one of my female corys looks like she might be on the way out since this happened....of course i have done two heavy water changes since it happened, but i think the stress of a cat and broken glass suddenly entering her tank might be too much for her to bear.....she was right in the middle of laying eggs, too.
