Hi Everyone,
I finally managed to rig-up some extra light on my Juwel Rekord 120 tank with the application of plastic bolts and Duck tape. I've got a 30 watt Interpet Daylight Plus bulb, along with the 25 watt Aquaglow I'd already got in it. Both lights have Arcadia reflectors to double the light. It looks pretty bright so I'm hoping my plants actually might start growing now, rather than collecting brown algae on them.
I need to get some CO2 in there but I had bad experiences with DIY CO2 so I might go for a Nutrifin system next month, when I can afford it.
The trailing wires are not that attractive but I think its more important to get the plants growing. I can make a DIY hood when I've got the time.
Now my other two tanks look positively gloomy - I'll have to increase the light in those tanks as well. Not quite sure how with the Juwel Triton (it's a deep corner tank). It's like keeping up with the Jones's, only worse
