I currently have a 60l tank with a 400 lph fluval filter, before this i had a 300 lph rena filter. Since the change i have noticed better water conditions, less algae etc. I am getting a new 90l tank soon and was wondering if it would be worth the money to upgrade again to a fluval 700 lph filter. Would this over filter the tank?
Would my current fluval be fine in the new tank or i is worth the money to upgrade?
thanks in advance
chris.

It really depends on what kind of fish you are planning to put in and what level of stocking. If you are going to be lightly stocked the filter should be just fine. If you are going to overstock, I'd get the larger one. Generally you want your filter to be able to filter the entire tank 5-7 times per hour. So for 90l you'd want a filter rated for 450-630 lph.

Thanks dthoffsett.
I'm probably going to fully stock the tank so i think i'll purchase a fluval 3 plus.
