so ive been contracting on my bristlenoses and trying to get them to breed when i notice my butterfly cichlids have laied eggs again for the 3rd time, the las 2 lots have been eaten so what i wanted to know is can i remove the eggs and if so how do i do it

I dont know about butterfly cichlids but if they have spawned on a slate/plant/cave etc etc you can remove that place in a rearing tank with good circulation, and add some metholine blue (not sure on the spelling) but it stops fungus from attacking the eggs which the parents would usualy remove if they was doing their job probley.

this is a piccy of the eggs someone had a feast last night by the looks any idea if they are fertile or not they are just over a day old?

They look good, with dead eggs they go white quickly and they get fungus which can spread to the good eggs.

Good luck though

omg omg omg i cant believe this my eggs seam to have tails lol, What do i do with them noe i have some egg layers fish food, but when do i feed them etc ive never had eggs that have hatch b4. I know they might not survie but please someone give me some help

Thats great news, are they still with the parents and are the parents doing anthing?

if so then they are slowly lurning what to do as well, they may not all surive nut each time the breed they will get better.

well they will be helpless for about 3-5 days, do not feed the, at this point.

Once they start to become free swimming they will need some food, liquifry #1 will be ok, but live foods are the best.
I dont know about butterfly cichlids but some cichlids lead the fry around the tank on the search for small foods and even seen then spit out broken up flake food for them to eat.

ive got some liquifry #1 do i feed them when they are all free swimming or from when the first one is. also do i need to remove any of the eggs that have turned white?

sorry for all the questions

feed then once they are all swimming, and idearly remove white eggs with tweezers or something as fungs may kill wiggeling fry, but not a problem once their swimming.
